Abstract

The development of information and communication technologies has brought significant innovations in the ways in which societies use financial resources in a more simplistic way to satisfy their needs, through the use of digital platforms. Currently, mobile phones have been a major element in digital payment methods, thus replacing the usual credit cards. Thus, commercial transactions take place, in real time, simply with a mobile phone in their hands, allowing the consumer to carry out their purchases as they wish, being this the person who initiates, operates and implements the transaction. The most common electronic payment methods in Mozambique include 1) payment via POS, 2) mobile banking, and 3) mobile phone. However, companies using/promoting mobile wallet services must be able to address customer concerns, which include 1) handling customer concerns; 2) overcoming customer distrust and 3) overcoming global issues. This article aims to analyze, through bibliographic research, the usefulness of digital payment resources in the acquisition of goods and services, as well as their interaction or merger with mobile payment wallets, from the point of view of elements that offer security to users of mobile payment wallets integrated with POS payment methods, such as the interconnection between the Mpesa service and the POS-BCI, whose functionality allows the user to generate a transaction code to be used by the supplier of goods or Service provider. However, (de Almeida, 2012), in his research, whose project is called SEMOPS, a reference that a good interconnection necessarily involves the observance of crucial steps that allow the interaction, moment by moment, between the parties, in order to confirm any transaction, so the columnist concludes that the system connecting the two providers lacks improvements in the security offered to users.

Key words: Mobile wallet, POS-BCI/Mpesa interconnection, security for users.
