Abstract

In Brazil, tourism is an important economic activity and ecotourism is becoming an increasingly attractive alternative. This work aims to analyze the view of higher education students from the Institute of Education, Agriculture and Environment (IEAA) of the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) about their knowledge about ecotourism in Brazil, as well as their experiences on the subject. The article was carried out through an electronic questionnaire on Google Forms to higher education students from IEAA/UFAM. With 25 open and closed questions about socioeconomic and ecotourism information. The courses able to participate in the survey were Agronomy, Biology and Chemistry, Environmental Engineering and Pedagogy and the survey had a sample of 100 respondents. Of these, 65 were female and 35 were male, and the ages ranged from 18 to 44 years. It was possible to notice that most students had an understanding of terms in the environmental area and answered satisfactorily most of the questions posed, in addition to having knowledge about ecotourism and the activities that can be practiced in it.
