ABSTRACT

Water is one of the most important natural resources for life on the planet. That is why it is important to work on the theme of sustainable water consumption from the perception of 150 students participating in the three grades of high school at the State School Imaculada Conceição. In order to analyze the sustainable consumption of water from the perception of high school students. Data collection was through a questionnaire with five questions to ascertain the degree of sensitivity of students from the three grades participating in the research. It presented a bibliographic and quantitative-qualitative approach that were developed based on the inductive method. In which 10 students representing each class participated, in a total of 50 students from each grade, being chosen from the age group of 14 to 22 years old. The research presented an important result, as it compared the level of knowledge of each student regarding the sustainable consumption of water. Thus, most of them showed little knowledge and were sensitized to consume this precious resource for survival. In order to raise awareness, it is necessary to include the issue of Environmental Education to contribute and train citizens aware of the use of water to avoid waste. Rationalizing and adopting rationing practices so as not to consume excesses and never lack for the present or the future. Even in the region with the highest concentration of drinking water in the world, there needs to be changes in habits, customs and ways to avoid wasting water.
