EMISSÕES DE GASES DE EFEITO ESTUFA E MUDANÇAS CLIMÁTICAS NO ESTADO DO PARÁ
Abstract
The purpose of this paper was to analyze the context of climate change in Brazil, and more specifically in the state of Pará, the main causative actions and mitigation tools. For this, the greenhouse effect was initially approached as a natural phenomenon, which influenced by anthropic actions causes climate change; in addition, the Brazilian public policies focused exclusively on climate change were studied. In methodological terms, the research was quali-quantitative and exploratory, consisting in the collection of data obtained through the Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Removal Estimates System, with information related to GHG emissions by sector and activity since 1970. It verified that the state of Pará is the largest emitter of greenhouse gases in Brazil, due to the change in land and forest use caused by deforestation, and although there are government plans regarding climate change, data are still problematic. Thus, it is necessary to carry out concrete inspection and control actions aimed at deforestation in the state, encouraging the participation of society as a whole in sustainable practices.
