ABSTRACT. This text is the result of a reflection on the construction of the feminine by Boi-Bumbá Caprichoso, in the Folklore Festival of Parintins 2018, through the item “cunhã-poranga”, "the most beautiful woman of the tribe". The study aimed to understand this construction as an educational tool for the spectators, since the Folk Festival is the most popular expression of popular culture in the north, covering a large part of the population in its elaboration and realization phases. Thus, through ethnographic research, a feminine item of expressive representativeness was focused, the “cunhã-poranga”. The result evidences the mixture of the native parintina and party builder, making the vision of the Indian romanticized and spectacular simultaneously, resulting in the empowered woman, with space for new ideals of beauty and with the potential to deplete traditional images of the feminine. With this, it is concluded that the Festival of Parintins has the potential, through art, to teach the public ideals such as respect for otherness, the feminine and, with emphasis, to value the native knowledge of our natives: the owners of the land.
