Abstract

The Oedipus complex in Freud is understood as the desire of one of the parents and rejection of the other, then disappears during latency, displacing energy into non-sexual activities, however, it does not happen in all cases. The result responds to the logic of perversion, as a deviation in the sexual aim in childhood development, observed in the pleasure of attacking the other, this relationship ever consists of two parts. This process is observed in the short film “The strange thing about the Johnsons”, where the director intertwines cinema with psychoanalysis, as part of the composition of a world immersed in meanings. These conscious or unconscious elements serve the analyst as raw material to reflect on the situation and give it a name.
