The psychosocial impacts on families when diagnosed with ADS

This article aimed to analyze the psychosocial impacts on families according to the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. With the strand of phenomenological Psychology with a theoretical basis from Merleau-Ponty according to the perceptions regarding the psychosocial aspects of the subject, understood by the consciousness of the being, their ways of thinking, perceiving, feeling towards the world. ASD is a neurodevelopmental disorder, with signs and symptoms in cognitive, social and behavioral aspects, causing various feelings and questions in the family context after diagnosis. The research methodology consisted of a bibliographic, qualitative and descriptive study that makes it possible to collect data for the theoretical basis according to material from books, scientific articles and other media that correspond to science, productions coming from SciELO, BVSalud, PePsic. From the elaboration of the results and discussions, according to the phenomenological psychology aspect through scientific productions referring to ASD, through the phenomenological method, concluding this article, its influences and perceptions are of great importance for the field of psychology.
