This theoretical article aims to reflect on the theoretical contribution of Phenomenology and Existentialism and their interconnection with the clinical practice of the Psychology professional. The contribution of both is undeniable in the sense of providing a perspective on care and caring for others that goes beyond theoretical and/or technical hermeticisms. The main concepts and theoretical foundations are presented, as well as the foundations of clinical psychology, integrating Phenomenology and Existentialism into clinical practice, phenomenological and existential techniques and methods, practical applications in clinical psychology, challenges and possibilities in the phenomenological and existential approach, ethics and responsibility of the psychologist, limits and criticisms of the phenomenological and existential approach. It is concluded that the integration of Phenomenology and Existentialism into clinical psychological practice is extremely relevant and enriching. Deepening the understanding of subjectivity, exploring phenomenological and existential techniques, and dealing with ethical challenges and criticism are essential elements to improve this therapeutic approach.
