Abstract

This essay aims to detail the importance and significant relevance of psychological duty and the intersectionalities of gender and race in the contemporary context, in view of the growing demand for inclusive and comprehensive theoretical perspectives in the area of ​​psychology, expanding the importance of understanding the complexity and the interconnection between gender, race and mental health, exploring different perspectives and relevant theories. The qualitative proposal follows, embodied in a literature review. The following are presented: thematic contextualization, theoretical foundations, Intersectional Psychology, Raciality and Psychology, Psychological duty: concepts and practices, intersectionality of gender and race, intersectional theories, black women and mental health, black men and mental health, intervention strategies, reception and active listening, challenges and future perspectives, barriers in psychological care, innovations and good practices. It is concluded that the research presents relevant contributions to the construction of a psychological practice that is more inclusive and sensitive to ethnic-racial issues.
