THE USE OF GIFS AS A PEDAGOGICAL TOOL IN TEACHING SCIENCE AND BIOLOGY IN THE CITY PORTO VELHO-RO

The objective of this study is to research and analyze the use of GIFs animations in Science and Biology classes as a pedagogical tool, and to evaluate its didactic potential through the application of questionnaires to teachers and students of elementary public education institutions, medium and higher. The research had a quantitative and qualitative character, as it has numerical characteristics and the interpretation of facts. The research was carried out through three steps, namely: elaboration and presentation of classes, data collection and data analysis. As a result, 87 responses from public basic and higher education students and 63 responses from public basic and higher education teachers were obtained. Through the responses obtained in the groups studied, it is possible to ensure that GIFs can be used as didactic tools in the classroom, as they facilitated the understanding of various contents presented during the research. It was also possible to verify that the main difficulties faced by teachers in the use of this tool are the lack of infrastructure in public schools and the lack of a bank of educational GIFs to extract this resource.Downloads
