Abstract

The present study seeks to explore and understand the challenges related to mental illness among psychology students. Training in this area involves delving into emotional and psychological issues, creating an environment conducive to the emergence of mental health problems. We will address the main causes, impacts and possible prevention and support strategies. The importance of considering the person's own perception of their illness process, the way in which their social context changes them both positively and negatively, as well as their vision of care, stands out. Therefore, we emphasize that health practices must be supported in this aspect, avoiding models that seek to fit the person into standards that end up disregarding their life history and invalidating the health-disease processes
