This research investigated the psychometric characteristics of the Self-Concept Clarity Scale in Brazilian Portuguese-language version, highlighting its convergent and factorial validity, as well as describing the relationship between this construct and religiosity structure in university students. The original scale in Portuguese has been translated and applied to 1200 university students, along with a Global Religiosity Scale. The principal component analysis indicated the presence of a single factor for the Self-Concept Clarity Scale, with adequate internal consistency, which correlated positively with the overall religiosity levels of the study sample. As expected, samples of spiritualists without religion and agnostic participants showed negative correlations with the Self-Concept Clarity Scale, corroborating the SSA analysis. The affiliation to religion proved a predictor of Self-Concept Clarity. It is concluded that religiosity impacts self-development processes and that the Self-Concept Clarity Scale in the Brazilian version presents adequate psychometric characteristics for research purposes.
