Fathers, mothers, and caregivers play a vital role in ensuring their children's survival and healthy development. Parenting practices have a strong influence on this issue; however, positive parenting, capable of satisfying children's needs, is not an innate skill. Usually, this parenting presents a considerable challenge, especially for inexperienced caregivers. The present work aims to analyze the results of an intervention sought at parental education carried out with primiparous mothers with children aged between 1 and 3 years in the northern region of Brazil. This intervention strived to offer participants an environment for listening, welcoming, and exchanging experiences regarding parental exercise, in addition to trying to benefit users and their families by encouraging the adoption of positive parenting practices and the search for alternatives to punitive measures to educate children and adolescents. At the end of the study, the participants filled out a satisfaction survey to evaluate the intervention results. Most participants who answered the form showed high satisfaction with participating in the project and pointed to positive impacts on their family dynamics. Therefore, implementing parental education programs is vital to mitigate relationship problems between mothers and children and as a protective factor against adverse mental health outcomes.
