Abstract

Law 10.639/2003 is a legal segment that supports a set of public policies aimed at restoring the protagonism of Afro-Brazilian and African cultures, Histories and Literature that have once been silenced by hegemonic narratives. This work aims to analyze the experience of the teaching aid and internship program (PED and PAD) of the Laboratório de Ensino em Literatura discipline in teaching African Literatures at Unicamp. The focus is on understanding how the theoretical and methodological proposals developed in the course support students in selecting corpus and forming their critical repertoires, and getting to know different historiographical and thematic perspectives that underlie the study and teaching of African Literatures. The methodology consists of the analysis of a set of subjects and contents worked on by the supervising teacher and the two scholarship holders of the Internship and Teaching Assistance Program. On the other hand, analyze the materials and presentations of class scripts made by the students as an evaluative component of the course. We understand that the methodological proposals and the indication of literary texts from different countries, together with the reading and discussion of bibliography, allowed the critical-analytical contact with the literary productions and the questions that circumscribed the works of African Literatures from the recognition of historical realities and geographical areas of the African continent itself, making it possible to thematize and study their cultures in a critical way and the relationship established with other places in the world.
