Abstract

The present article analyzes in the work “Memórias de um sobrevivente”, by Luiz Alberto Mendes, the writing of himself, that results of an autobiographical writing produced on the prison’s experience, puts himself in the condition of testimonial Literature and his condition of subaltern. The work brings elements of the memory and elements of the life’s history of the author himself, narrating strong moments of relationships of subalternities and the construction of the subject’s voice. We will approach nuances of memory and subalternity, adopting a new nomenclature: the double subalternity, because he is a poor writer, therefore subaltern, and a writer in the condition of prisoner, in other words, double subaltern. The present study will also address resistance to the dominant discourse through the voice of a writer arrested. I bring questions about the crowd and what the prisoner represents among others in relation to the construction of space and discourse. It addresses the issue of subalternity and the position of the poor and arrested writer, facing this performance of the subaltern. Therefore, he tried to adapt the concept of literary work produced in the prison with the concept of the herd literature. Writing of many. Positioning and repositioning of the subject’s voice as a subaltern in the literary field.
