THE THEME OF POWER IN TWO LUSOPHONE CHILDREN'S AND YOUTH NARRATIVES

Abstract

After all, what is power? Here, we dedicate ourselves to presenting the dialectical of power, a striking characteristic of the works O Reizinho Mandão, by Ruth Rocha (1978), and Kibala, o Rei Leão, by Gabriela Antunes (1983), in a comparative process that aims to demonstrate how real and fictional power mirror each other in order to reveal their effects on the Other who lives under them and depends on them, be it the citizen or the reader. Maria José de Rezende (2013), Márcia Maro da Silva (2007) and Terezinha Taborda Moreira (1999) are some of the authors who base this research and make the analysis possible in this space of interpretation configured between the poetically expressed power and the politically exercised power in specific historical moments of Brazil and Angola, privileging the perception of how acts of command do not occur without great consequences, especially when exercised without due consideration of reality and moral sense, essential elements in the field of sociability of subjectivities.
