Abstract

This text offers a proposal of work with literature from the contributions found in Literary Literacy, by Rildo Cosson (2009), whose recommendations were followed while organizing a proposal for an Expanded Sequence. Studies on the importance of reading, teaching literature, literary reading, and literary literacy are added here to the urgency of reviewing teaching-learning practices, which it is done here by seeking to bring the university closer to the school through the elaboration and availability of proposals for basic sequences and expanded sequences, produced from dissertations and theses from Graduate Programs for teachers who work with basic education. Our proposed expanded sequence on the female representation of Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Brontë, was built from a master's thesis, in a way that a consistent method to literary teaching was drawn.
