Coats disease in children with progressive blindness: case report

The objective is to report a case of a nine-year-old patient referred to Ocular Plastic department and Orbitopatias at University Hospital Getulio Vargas, Manaus / AM, for diagnosis. Had insidiously/progressive low vision in right eye, without light perception, seven months ago. The right eye (OD) exam was normal biomicroscopy and fundus revealed detachment total retina, retinal vascular abnormalities and retinal exudation, associated with vitreoretinal traction, confirmed by ocular ultrasound. It was referred to the retina department, which has suggested to diagnosis of Coats disease with differential diagnosis of retinoblastoma. Imaging tests were ordered for proper investigation.
