OS BENEFÍCIOS DO BILINGUISMO PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO COGNITIVO INFANTIL EM CRIANÇAS DE DOIS A SEIS ANOS

Resumo

O bilinguismo é uma situação linguística, onde duas línguas coexistem na mesma comunidade ou em que um indivíduo demonstra capacidade gramatical e comunicativa em mais de uma língua. O presente artigo teve como objetivo analisar o impacto que o ensino bilíngue e de línguas, durante a Educação Infantil, tem no desenvolvimento cognitivo de crianças de dois a seis anos. Desta forma, foram analisados os conceitos de Aprendizagem, Linguagem, Inteligência e como eles estão relacionados, além disso o desenvolvimento infantil foi abordado com base na teoria Construtivista de Piaget, especificamente no período pré-operatório. Para se atingir os objetivos deste estudo foi realizada uma pesquisa do tipo bibliográfica básica, por meio de um levantamento direto no acervo das bibliotecas, artigos científicos e sites de pesquisa. Portanto, conforme constatou-se, o bilinguismo infantil é benéfico, tendo em vista que a segunda língua contribui para a manutenção de funções cerebrais importantes para o desenvolvimento cognitivo das crianças, de sua aprendizagem e para suas vidas sociais.

THE BENEFITS OF BILINGUALISM FOR CHILDREN'S COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT IN CHILDREN OF TWO TO SIX YEARS OLD

ABSTRACT: Bilingualism is a linguistic situation where two languages ​​coexist in the same community or where an individual demonstrates grammatical and communicative ability in more than one language. The present article aimed to analyze the impact that bilingual and language teaching during Early Childhood Education has on the cognitive development of children from two to six years old. In this way, the concepts of Learning, Language, Intelligence and how they are related were analyzed. In addition, the child development was approached based on the Constructivist theory of Piaget, specifically in the preoperative period. In order to achieve the objectives of this study, a basic bibliographic research was carried out, through a direct survey of the collection of libraries, scientific articles and research sites. Therefore, as it turned out, child bilingualism is beneficial, since the second language contributes to the maintenance of brain functions that are important for the cognitive development of children, their learning and their social lives.
