O presente estudo avaliou os compostos antioxidantes extraídos de folhas de plantas amazônicas como Jambo (<em>Jambos malaccensis</em>), Alfavaca (<em>Ocimum gratissimum</em>) e Tucumã (<em>Astrocaryum aculeatum</em>) e sua influência com o ritmo circadiano. As atividades antioxidantes de tais plantas foram avaliadas pela capacidade da 2,2-difenil-1-picril-hidrazila (DPPH<sup>•</sup>) no bloqueio de radicais livres formados, bem como a análise do dano dos radicais livres nos lipídieos pela reação do ácido tiobarbitúrico (TBARS). Os resultados obtidos mediante DPPH<sup>•</sup> sugerem importantes informações em todas as amostras analisadas, contudo, os extratos provenientes de Alfavaca exibiram melhores resultados exibindo um maior potencial antioxidante na sexta hora de exposição à luz solar. Os resultados relacionados ao método TBARS indicaram menor taxa µM de MDA/mg nas amostras de Jambo na décima segunda hora de luz (0,19 µM MDA/mg) e na sexta hora sem luz do dia (0,22 µM MDA/mg), sugerindo uma importante ação antioxidante em comparação com as amostras de Alfavaca (0,94 e 1,25 µM MDA/mg) e Tucumã (0,54 e 0,60 µM MDA/mg) para a sexta hora com e sem luz solar. Desta forma, demonstramos importantes efeitos antioxidantes provenientes de tais extratos vegetais em decorrência do ritmo circadiano, uma importante informação para a extração e estudo dos extratos de tais plantas amazônicas.</p> <p><strong>The antioxidant profile in the circadian rhythm of <em>Jambos malaccensis</em>, <em>Ocimum gratissimum</em> e <em>Astrocaryum aculeatum</em></strong></p> <p><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> <p>Free radicals generation is controlled in organisms by several mechanisms, including antioxidant compounds, one of the current objectives in industrial research to search for natural antioxidants for food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical ingredients, therefore, minimizing the cost of production. The present study evaluated the antioxidant compounds extracted from leaves of Amazonian plants such as Jambo (<em>Jambos malaccensis</em>), Alfavaca (<em>Ocimum gratissimum</em>) and Tucumã (<em>Astrocaryum aculeatum</em>) and their production in circadian rhythm. The antioxidant activities of these plants were evaluated by the ability of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydraza (DPPH<sup>•</sup>) to block free radicals, as well as the analysis of free radical damage in lipids by thiobarbituric acid reaction (TBARS). The results obtained by DPPH<sup>•</sup> suggest different antioxidant actions in the samples analyzed, however, the extracts from Alfavaca and Tucumã showed better results displaying a higher antioxidant potential in the first hours of exposure to sunlight. Results related to the TBARS method indicated lower µM MDA/mg rate compared to the twelve hours photoperiod of sunlight exposure, mainly in Jambo samples (0.23 µM MDA/mg), suggesting an important antioxidant action compared to the Alfavaca (0.58 µM MDA/mg) and Tucumã (2.36 µM MDA/mg) samples. Thus, we demonstrate relevant antioxidant effects from such plant extracts as a result of circadian rhythm, therefore, the present data suggest that future studies with crude extracts with antioxidant profile of such Amazonian plants should follow different collection and extraction times due to the main metabolic regulator in plant, photosynthesis.</p>}, number={1}, journal={Revista Ensino, Saúde e Biotecnologia da Amazônia}, author={Menezes Alves, Jakeline and Souza, Anderson Oliveira}, year={2020}, month={maio}, pages={19–28} }
